Marcia Egg
Dear Colleagues,
I have just retired as a civil servant of the Brazilian Federal Public Administration, where I worked in both Judicial and Legislative systems, at first as stenographer and reviewing officer, then as assistant to the Secretary-General of Brazilian Sena...te Board, and ultimately as coordinator and teacher of long-distance courses on Portuguese language proficiency. Before joining the Federal Public Administration, I worked as administrative officer in the private sector.
Because of my personal interest in foreign languages, I have dedicated part of my off-duty time in the past 17 years to the translation works of English, German and French languages into Brazilian Portuguese in multiple areas.
I have been studying these languages for many years. Most recently I have taken up Post-Graduation studies in English-Portuguese and Portuguese-English translation and in film and video subtitling.
Retirement has now allowed me to dedicate my time to what I truly enjoy doing, which is professional translation in any of the languages I have proficiency in.
I have joined ProZ for three monthes and it is the first time I take part of such an event.
I am sure it will be very interesting and successful.
See you soon!
Best regards.
Marcia Egg
