Source text - English The experience of the automobile company Toyota can exemplify marketing strategy of the Japanese enterprises. The company managed to sweep the international markets by making the competition grade with the famous Volkswagen company from Germany. The Japanese firms tried their best to impede promotion of Volkswagen’s products at the U.S.A. markets, although there was time when the German cars had no rivals there.
The Japanese experts keep performing scrupulous studies of the reasons of high competitiveness of the German cars and make it their target to develop a car surpassing the competitor in all aspects. To promote their car at the markets of the world, they pursue flexible and reasonable policy avoiding direct conflicts.
For example, it was the Japanese initiative to make an American marketing agency conduct a motorists’ opinion poll revealing their claims to the German car. After the revealed disadvantages were summarized (e.g. insufficient heating of the passenger compartment in winter), Toyota immediately turned to refitting of its car. The resulting car was as good as the Volkswagen’s products even exceeding them in some aspects (e.g. price). Besides, according to the adopted strategy the benefit fee in favor of the employees involved in advertising and sales business in the U.S.A. was increased to encourage them. As a result, Toyota became the outright winner in this struggle.

Для продвижения своего автомобиля на мировых рынках они проводят гибкую и благоразумную политику, избегая прямых конфликтов.

После подведения итогов по обнаруженным недостаткам (например, недостаточный обогрев салона зимой), «Тойота» незамедлительно приступила к переоборудованию своей продукции. Hot-strip mills must operate at maximum performance and at low cost.
At the same time, supreme quality requirements have to be met, and personnel safety must be accorded the highest priority.
In hot-rolling mills side guide systems are installed to guide the rolled strip into the coiler.
The wear plates mounted on the side guides are subject to excessive abrasion and need to be frequently replaced.
Strip-surface defects can be caused by hot burrs dropping from the wear plates onto the strip surface.
Another issue is that the moving strip cuts a groove in the wear plates, which can cause damage to the strip edge.
Regular manual maintenance work is therefore necessary to replace the wear plates and prevent strip damage.
