I hold an MSc in Translation and Technology from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh). I passed both the diploma and dissertation stages of this course with distinction. My MSc dissertation was on politeness theory and computer-assisted translation, and was entitled “The Translation of Hedges using Computer-Assisted Translation Tools in the European Union”.
I completed a BA (Hons) in Spanish Language and Literature Major with French Minor at the University of Leeds. I achieved a distinction for my spoken Spanish and was also awarded the Premio Hispanidad for academic excellence by the Instituto Cervantes.
I am also a Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (MITI). My MITI exam was selected as one of the outstanding exam translations of 2013 and I was highly commended for the John Hayes award for excellence in translation. To find out more, see the ITI website.
