My name is Paulo Roberto Celestino Guimarães, and I am a full time, freelance, native PORTUGUESE Brazilian translator, editor and proofreader, living and working in São Paulo, São José dos Campos, Brazil.

In the '80s and '90s I was employed as a press attaché and as a e-translator. During the "dot.com" era in the latter part of that decade I worked for a translation agency in Alphaville São Paulo and also for consultancy companies.

More recently, for the last 10 years, as a business owner, I have provided translation services for different clients.

I was born and grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, and pursued and attained a Bachelor Degree in Social Communication/Journalism in Rio de Janeiro. I ventured to Belgium in 1982 to complete my MS Journalism at Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

All through my career, whether that was in the journalism or technology fields or in my own businesses, my reputation (besides my family, of course) is #1, and paramount. I pride myself in being conscientious, reliable and timely.

Over the years I have built up sizable Translation Memories using Wordfast and Trados in the following areas:

General (website localization)
Technology
Finance
Medical (non-technical)
