Most people think that negotiations are all about money. According to some experts, this is false. Whenever you want to get something from someone or vice versa, you are negotiating. A higher rate per word of course, but also the opportunity to work with your own CAT tool, a later deadline, up/down stream formatting issues... Negotiation is like a game, with its own rules, strategies and tactics. Preparing before the game begins is key to any successful negotiation.
The objective of this training is to familiarize yourself with this art, the techniques to master, and offer you the opportunity to practice your skills.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Identify situations conducive to negotiations
Establish clear objectives before any negotiations
Recognize and use negotiation tactics for translator / direct client or translator / translation agency relationships
