What: just a couple of nights before the 2015 international conference, conference attendees as well as anyone interested in networking with translation colleagues will gather for a tour behind the scenes at Schiphol airport and a subsequent dinner at Vork en Mes, Hoofddorp.

What: ProZ.com powwows are informal get-togethers of groups of ProZ.com users living in close proximity or attending the same event. This is why the day before the 2015 international conference starts, conference attendees as well as anyone interested in networking with translation colleagues will gather for three different and optional activities: a boat trip to Kinderdijk, a walking tour to Rotterdam and a 'Rice Table' meal.
When: June 12th, 2015.

What: ProZ.com conference attendees will celebrate the first day of the conference by gathering all for dinner at the Inntel Hotels Rotterdam Centre.
When: June 13th, 2015.

Menu: The gala dinner will be buffet-style:
Cream of curry soup with bean sprouts and coriander
Variety of bread with butter, herb butter, tapenade and olive oil.
Graved lachs with Norwegian shrimps.

What:The post-conference powwow will take place in a unique location on the Rotterdam waterfront. On an ocean liner no less! The SS Rotterdam was once the luxurious flagship of the Holland America Line and from its maiden voyage in 1959 until it was withdrawn from service in 2000 it sailed the Atlantic many times and later became a cruise ship. it fell into disrepair but was brought back to its birthplace and restored to its former glory. It is now a floating hotel , conference and restaurant location and is permanently moored in Rotterdam harbour.
Our voyage begins on the other side of the harbour where water taxis will pick us up from right outside the conference hotel and take us over the Nieuwe Maas waterway to the SS Rotterdam. We have a reserved place in the elegant Club Room, one of the beautifully restored restaurants where passengers from all around the world once dined at sea and which was affectionately known as the ‘living room’.
Our meal will be a 3 course dinner with a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian dishes for each course (see below). After the meal, with plenty of time to stroll the decks and admire the view (weather permitting!) or relax in the lounge, the water taxis will take us back to the conference hotel.
Price including 3 course dinner and water transport to and from the ship: € 50 per person.
Advance payment will be required to secure your booking, details will be sent to those of you who make a reservation. If you are also attending the pre-conference powwow on Friday you can reserve both meals for € 75, saving € 5 on the individual prices. Bookings received by 31 May will be guaranteed, after that date they will be subject to availability.
