Is it possible to import a TM from Trados (.tmw or .tmx) into Across Personal Edition 5, while retaining the creationid? (Without resorting to filters in the Concordance search in Across.)

Workbench:

NL: Inhoud EN: Contents

Created on: 15/04/2009, 06:59 Created by: ALIGN! Changed on: 15/04/2009, 07:44 Changed by: MJWB

In the .TMX:

<tu creationdate="20071129T140758Z" creationid="ALIGN!" changedate="20100429T112024Z" changeid="MJWB">
<tuv xml:lang="NL-NL">
<seg>INHOUD</seg>
</tuv>
<tuv xml:lang="EN-GB">
<seg>CONTENTS</seg>
</tuv>
</u>

Did you try? May 30, 2010

In principle, all TMX exports/imports should conserve the creationid. It's part of the TMX standard so if Across claims to be TMX compatible it should be conserved.
If you import a TMX and it doesn't work as expected, export a TM created in Across and check if the creationid is recorded in it in a different way from your own TMX. If there is a difference, adapt your TMX with search and repace to the Across style.

Yes, but there are some details May 31, 2010

"Creationid" is mapped automatically to Across User in Across Language Server installation.
But you are working with personal edition, so there is only one available user - Default Supervisor, and such mapping will not have any sense.

You can map "creationid" manually to any of Across attributes during import. E.g., you can create attribute (Tools -> System settings -> Attributes -> Add...) "creationid".

That's what I was just trying: playing around with the attributes mapping settings in Across.
