Let me preface this by saying that I have very little experience working with CAT tools.

Does anybody know if the output from Across is distinguishable from Trados output as far as a project manager or end-client is concerned?

I have a client that requires the work to be done with Trados, but I only have Across (and haven't used it much at that).

Thanks for the help : )

Hi Jordan,
We recently tested out Across and it seemed to work fine with Trados, just be aware that you will have to ask the client to provide you with their TM saved as a .tmx (Translation memory exchange) file. You can then import this to across and create your translation. Then, when you have finished, output the translation as a .tmx file and send this to the client. They can then import the file to their Trados TM. This should be fully compatible and not give you any headaches!

However, I don't think you can deliver a set of Trados TM files (.iix, .mdf, .mtf, .mwf, and .tmw). But the .tmx file should be fine. Probably best to check with the client!
Hope that helps
All the best
