I'm new to translation memory programs.I've been asked to translate some documents in TRADOS, how do I create the target document?

Trados currently uses two formats: MS Word files with special hidden codes and their own TTX format, which can only be edited with their Tag Editor tool.
If you want to avoid having to buy Trados, ask your client to send the document as pretranslated (=presegmented) word files. You can then simply translate the document in Word.
