Dear all,
I am invoicing a proofreading project that I just finished. I am paid per word in the target text. But alas, some of the proofread files are in ppt-format. How do I manage to count the words?

Dear Hannah,

In PPT, go to File/Properties/Statistics.

You should see the word count there

Or count it with your CAT tool Oct 28, 2008

or a (freeware) counting software. You should do so anyway just to get a comparison, because the count in PP itself is not always reliable.

It counts words in MSWord textboxes (unlike MSWord itself). Recently, I downloaded and installed it just to open some OpenOffice files (if I get them) and count words in textboxes... Try it.
