Our company, BioMed Proofreading LLC, did an English copyediting project for a new client from Germany. After sending the finished file back to this client, no any response any more, of cause, no payment at all. What should we do?
Thanks for your suggestions.

A suggestion Jan 15, 2009

1. Call them
2. Make an entry in the Blue Board if they are already there; otherwise, create a new entry for them. This is very helpful.

Good luck

Anwaltkanzlei Strick Jan 15, 2009

You can find them at http://cms.strick.de/actueel/index.cfm?ID=47 (the website is only in German and Dutch).

Write an e-mail to [email protected] in English. These people are specialized in obtaining money from German companies.

Sometimes it's just enough to inform the debtor that you consider to contact this court.

Find out who you are dealing with Jan 16, 2009

Looka up at Zahlungspraxis if this is a known non-payer. If so you will have to fight really hard for your money.
I once tried Mahngericht in Berlin, but when the official finally went to the address I had been given there was not such business there, the office worked under another name. So make sure you sue the real person involved, not the business.
But first try to contact them directly. Ring once a day using Skype, doesn't cost anything.

Regards
Heinrich
