Hello,

how do "normal" translation rates compare with audiovisual translation?
What would be a reasonable % increase for the translation of voiceover scripts, taking into account issues such as rhythm and length of translated text?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Why charge different rates? May 4, 2010

I might charge extra - say 30% - if I had to do a lot of fiddling around with sentence lengths. But normally, an audiovisual translation is no different to any other kind.

30% sounds reasonable May 4, 2010

Yes, that's my point.
If it were no different from a "normal" translation, then normal rates would apply.
But in case of "fiddling" then I was also thinking 30% was reasonable.

Thanks!
