Hi, thank you in advance for your opinions.

I worked for agencies via proz and asked to send them invoice.

I have found that it carries the log-in ID on top of the document,

so I have to change my ID to the real name.

I would rather have my name not shown on the internet, but the invoice needs to

have my name. I asked for help for the registration office,

but the site settings are so structured and cannot be changed.

What can do about this?
Is everyone showing the real name on both invoice and web
still feeling alright about internet safety or privacy?

Your name is your brand. Mar 24, 2013

As a freelancer, your name is your brand. Why would you want to hide your brand? Would you feel unsafe having your name listed in a phone book? There are many steps you can take to help ensure your privacy, but trying to keep your real name off of the internet is not a very good one.

If you are still concerned, feel free to create your own invoices (without using the ProZ.com system) and submit them to the agency directly.

ProZ is a safer place than anywhere else Mar 24, 2013

Yes, it is good to have your own brand.
It is very good to hear that we can be confident about our own brands.
I appreciate your opinion!

I have been a member since only Feb still
I see that Proz is a safer place to be,
compared to other sites like SNS, showing only nickname on twitter or blog.

I used to use my own invoice and
sensed that I will get exhausted very soon,

found that everyone else is using their real names and feeling safe.
Now I have the grounds, thanks to your kind answer!!:)

To explain the background of that question,
Japan is said to be one of the extreme countries in privacy or hygiene,
they even started NOT to provide phone books
with personal home numbers in some districts including mine.

(It only carries the numbers of shops or municipal services
to avoid third party abusing the number)
it seems they are being rather nervous.

my invoices - settings Mar 24, 2013

Go to My invoices -> settings -> Update your company name and add your real name there, so it will appear in your invoices. This change won`t affect your profile name.
