I am taking a consumer behavior course at the local university and I was wondering....

Does anyone know of any studies, other than by the ATA, that focus on the method to the madness of picking a translator by consumers? Are there any studies showing the what, how and why of picking a translator?

Has anyone ever wanted to get in the mind of consumers who look at documents and determine that there is a need for a professional translation?
