same sample text, different job poster??

I would like to report something which doesn't sound exactly "right" to me, although I don't know precisely why. Some days ago a job was posted on proz, with a very detailed explanation of what the translation should be like, and with a sample text to refer to, not to translate. It was a multiple pair request. Yesterday I got a job warning from another translation webpage; someone who pays 9USD for the translation of the same text in just one language. The job description isn't as detailed, but it states in few words the same as the description posted on proz. Is it someone who wants to exploit somebody else's capabilities in order to get a job or what? And what shall be done in such a case?
Thanks

Outsourcing Oct 18, 2004

Perhaps the person who got that job considers outsourcing it to another translator.

Hi Andy,

I was wondering about that too, but what seems strange to me is that the text is exactly the same (actually 2 different texts interrupted in the same point) and that the person pays 9 USD for that. But may-be you are right and I am overanalysing the whole thing!
Regards

Laura

Don't see a problem here, TBH Oct 18, 2004

Hi Elle,
I don't see a problem here, and to be honest, I'm not sure where you see one...?

Andy's explanation appears to be the most probable one - if anyone could have a problem, it's the (original) outsourcer...

Best regards, Ralf

ok then Oct 18, 2004

Hi Ralf,

ok, if you say so. I just thought that it might be someone who asked for a well done translation in order to present it to the original poster as his/hers and get the job. What's more, the poster here hasn't closed it yet, but then again I won't mind.
Thank you
