Hello,

lately there was again a job add from one of those rather terrible and not trustworthy agencies that have been for long discussed, and we have even been a group of translators trying to get them banned from Proz.com, as well as trying to make them pay those amounts they still owe many of us.

Even though I do not work for them since more than 2 years, they still owe me 650 euros which I will never see the light of, they put in system to pay in the beginning, very low rates, and then after a certain period they invent reasons such as saying the client has been complaining about the quality so they cannot pay, and similar stuff, to avoid paying their translators. Anyway what they do is to put out adds for young and inexperienced translators they can fool to work for nothing and then scam them in the end by not paying them.

Now, I think it is quite annoying that Proz.com let them post adds still, at least there could be some joint decision not letting them post their job adds here at the site. Even though I am aware that they are quite cunning at this agency, and also put out comments of their own on the Blueboard, there being comments from profiles that certainly do not exist as real translators. At least ban them once and for all!!

(for those of you who want to know which agency it is, just write in private and I will tell you)

Thanks,

Katarina.

Termination Policy Feb 27, 2008

Good evening, lampedus,

Now, I think it is quite annoying that Proz.com let them post adds still, at least there could be some joint decision not letting them post their job adds here at the site.

Outsourcers may be banned from posting jobs pursuant to the ProZ.com Termination Policy. This requires a minimum of two non-payment complaints; for the purposes of the Termination Policy, ProZ.com requires a confirmation that work was delivery on time, and no quality-related complaints were raised shortly after delivery.

Even though I am aware that they are quite cunning at this agency, and also put out comments of their own on the Blueboard, there being comments from profiles that certainly do not exist as real translators.

If you believe there are any entries which are not in line with Blue Board rules, please contact a Jobs/BB moderator. On a related note, the Termination Policy is enforced regardless of any number of positive entries.

Best regards,
Ralf
