Hi

When you do a word count the computer will count names and numbers which don't need to be translated. Do you still include them? ...

Names and numbers still have to be read and recognised as such by the translator, and for many language combinations such as mine (English to Danish), numbers have to be "translated" since thousands separators and decimal points are not the same in the two languages.

... whether they are embedded in the text (and thus can hardly be separated from it) or whether they are separated from the translatable text, e.g. in a separate table column. But unless stated otherwise: everything in the document is counted.

BTW: Some CAT tools do not count numbers in their count feature.
