In a recent video of 2:49 min Dominique shows you how to convert a glossary-style Excel file to a TMX file.

CafeTran's underlaying file format for projects is XLIFF. Translation Memories are stored as TMX files. No conversion or time-consuming import needed. Glossaries are plain text and tab-delimited.

Excel files can be opened right away and will be saved as a glossary (or TM) then. Or (what I personally like more, since it offers me greater control): open the worksheet in Excel or OpenOffice, rearrange and/or delete columns, copy the useful columns directly to your glossary.

Up and running in 20 seconds.
