Sometimes when I copy an Arabic sentence from a word doc and paste it into Trados 7 (workbench, I get strange letters (Latin letters)instead. Can anybody tell me why this happens? Another problem I am facing is that after clicking Set/Close get button, I get the same source segment and target I just done.

Have you checked the fonts? Sep 30, 2008

Hi Husam,

something similar happened to me. When I opened a Galician text, Japanese characters appeared. The problem was that I did not have the right font installed in my computer (I had to ask my customer the font that I was supposed to be using, in this case, Arial Unicode). I first had to install this font (you have to get it from the Windows Office installation disk) and then set Trados to select it. To do that, go to File > Setup > Fonts. There you have to select the right font for both source and target texts, and click Add.

This worked for me, I hope it can help you.

Good luck,
