XLIFF keyboard commands not working

How can I get the xliff editor keyboard commands to work? Currently I am having to go through the menu each time to get to the next segment.
Secondly, if and when I do get them to work, what is meant by Alt+* for the tranlsate to next 100% match, does that entail Alt + shift 8?

solved my own problem. (blush) the keys referred to are on the number pad.....
