G'day everyone

A client sent me two LSPKG files to open in LocStudio. I have the latest version installed. When I open the files, I get the following error messages:

Error : Loc2Edb1001 : Exception : An error occured loading file
'C:\Documents and Settings\Mynamel\Local
Settings\Temp\b155f74d-53d8-4dae-b34b-748c45817045\1.lcl': The data
contained in the LocCultures.xml file is invalid : An error occurred
loading element 'LocCulture' at line 3 position 182 - Culture with
LCID 1 already exists Parameter name: LCID

Error : Loc2Edb1001 : Exception : An error occured loading file
'C:\Documents and Settings\Myname\Local
Settings\Temp\5ebafd00-ebf7-4273-aa4a-9d17cec7ec11\1.lcl': The data
contained in the LocCultures.xml file is invalid : An error occurred
loading element 'LocCulture' at line 3 position 182 - Culture with
LCID 1 already exists Parameter name: LCID

Do anyone know how I can fix this? The client says the files open perfectly on his computer.

Thanks
Samuel

Added: If I look at the error trace, it appears that LocStudio is looking for a file named "Strings.resx.lcl", and being unable to load that file causes the failure to fully load the LSPKG file. Does anyone have a file like that that they can send me?

Thanks

I have the same problem to open LSPKG files, should I change the locCulture.xml file?

I could not solve this problem -- in the end, I sent the translation to the client in Excel, and he pasted it into LocStudio and sent me the final file to check if he had pasted it correctly.

caused by DotNet 3.5? Aug 11, 2011

Hey Samuel,

Did you install DotNet3.5? and Which OS you used?

I use Windows XP Pro SP2. I can't remember what I installed -- I have installed so many things (including variants of dotnet) that I can't even begin to remember what I have installed along the way. If a specific version of dotnet is required, the program should say so when it finds it missing.

I see, let's see where I will be. Thanks anyway, Samuel!

What is the OS? Aug 16, 2011

We had the same issue on one of our machines. This computere has installed Windows XP with SP2.

The only solution was to install SP3. Maybe it helps.

regards,
Marcin

Installing SP3 on a virtual machine may be a good idea, but one would have to reinstall frequently, because Microsoft has changed its activation policy for XP machines (due to piracy) so that you can no longer activate via the internet (you need to phone).
