Hello,

I received a RTF file with Trados codes – each sentence is written twice. I am a SDLX user. I wander if it is possible to convert this RTF file to a SDLX file. I have to keep all codes and recreate the RTF document with Trados template after translating. If you know how to do it, could you please provide me with step-by-step instructions? Thanks!

Boris

Clean the RTF Nov 24, 2005

Hi Boris,

You can clean the RTF using RTFCleaner, http://www.maxprograms.com , and translate with SDLX as usual.

I suspect that your client expects an "uncleaned" RTF (a bilingual RTF with Trados-style marks). Check with your client before cleaning the file.

Regards,
Rodolfo

Translate with... Nov 24, 2005

Hi Boris,

Apply the modul 'Translate with'. And the same procedure as usual.
The result is a uncleaned RTF file.

You can import it directly into SDLX and upon export a segmented RTF file will be produced.
