Hello dear Colleagues,

I am about to receive a big job from a customer and he has sent me two kinds of files:
- .aspx and .html

He was requested an offer stating price and counting and my CAT TOOL (SDL Trados 7.1 Freelance) does not neither analyse nor open them for translation, on the first situation I see the message:

(50106) No matching settings file found

and when trying to open on TAG EDITOR
it pops up "TAG SETTINGS MANAGER"

and I can't seem to find a compatible option

Please can someone help me as I am taking too long already by now?
Thank you

It looks like ASPX files contain the same type of stuff you'd find in an HTML file, so why not try to use the HTML settings file for the ASPX files?

Sorry if stating the obvious Nov 16, 2007

Hi Maria,

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but have you tried selecting the "HTML predefined settings" in Tag Settings?

Tutorials Nov 16, 2007

Maria

Do you have access to the tutorials on how to use tageditor?
If so, these will talk you through the steps you have to take the first time you're processing an html file.

For instance you have to set the HTML4 settings file "html4.ini" by going to tag settings, click open, in the open DTD dialog box select the default HTML4.0 tag settings file "html4.ini".

this file is normally located in c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\SDL International\filters

Very basic troubleshooting Nov 19, 2007

María, can you confirm whether or not "predefined HTML Settings" is visible and present in your list?!

You can access the list when you do the analysis in TWB, you don't even need to have TagEditor open for this first step:

Tools>Analyse>Options>Translation Memory Options>Tag Settings

This is very basic functionality of Trados.

If the file is visible, but you still get the error message, try analysing a different HTML file altogether, just to verify that Trados is working.

Since this is very basic troubleshooting, I'm sure SDL support could solve it for you in 5 minutes. Why don't you give them a call?!

/Jan

Dear Colleague

María, can you confirm whether or not "predefined HTML Settings" is visible and present in your list?!

SORRY FOR CAPS: NO IT DOES NOT SHOW ME THAT OPTION

You can access the list when you do the analysis in TWB, you don't even need to have TagEditor open for this first step:

Tools>Analyse>Options>Translation Memory Options>Tag Settings

This is very basic functionality of Trados.

If the file is visible, but you still get the error message, try analysing a different HTML file altogether, just to verify that Trados is working.

I HAVE DONE THAT AND NO IT DOES NOT ANALYSE, WHAT I DID WAS BUYNG QUICKCOUNT SOFTWARE ND IT DID THE COUNTING WHICH IS BY NOW SAFELY WITH CUSTOMER.

Since this is very basic troubleshooting, I'm sure SDL support could solve it for you in 5 minutes. Why don't you give them a call?!

I'M AFRAID I WILL HAVE TO DO THAT. I AM VERY VERY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR HELP.
