Hi All,

I wonder if someone could give me some advice. I'm a student doing a MA in Translation and we are using TRADOS. I would like something like this at home but just can't afford it. Is there an alternative thats just as good but cheaper. I've been on a few websites and they all say how great they are, I would rather hear from someone who has used one and can give me an honest opinion before I spend any money.

Thank you,

Jacy Baker

TOPIC STARTER
Thank you Dec 8, 2007

Thank you all for your replies, I'm so relieved that there is some software out there I can use to get started with. We are training with TRADOS in class so I don't feel I will be missing out by using a different software, that training will come in useful when I can eventually afford it, or with luck, get given it by a client. But for now any decent software will be useful, at least I can start building a memory and term base ready for the exam. Any advice on exams and general translation practice would be gratefully received also,

Thanks,

Jacy
