如果客户给的文件中有很多专业术语,而且资料中的文字没有上下文,就象一个软件的使用说明一样,要求将每个按纽的名称翻译出来,我没有把握是否能够翻的准确。客户还要求有折扣价。我是否要接这个单子?这是我的第一个工作,客户上来就给了我一部分资料,也没有谈价格,估计是让我自己看一下要不要接单。交单也很着急。接单的步骤是怎样的呢?谁在线,给我点建议。

接不接稿子,主意要你自己拿。没有把握的内容,最好有较长的交稿时间。又急又没有把握的稿子,我是不接的,免得耽误客户的事情。这是你在这里碰到的第一份稿子,心里很想接受,也是可以理解的。我觉得,要着眼长远的话,还是要诚实面对客户,能做的就接,不能做的就坦白告诉客户,客户也会感谢你的,说不定以后就会把你能做的稿子派给你。但如果第一次做砸了,以后就不会有机会了。

接稿步骤:
先查Blueboard,看客户的信用记录。信用良好,可以接受。如果信用不好,你也决定接受,就要考虑好自己能不能承担后果(对方可能不付款)。

如果决定接受,那么要与客户谈好价格、交稿时间、付款时间和付款方式(电汇、支票、PayPal等等)。让客户发一个Purchase Order(PO)或者让对方通过email确认双方说好的条款,然后开始工作。

客户现在只留下了email没有电话,昨天晚上12点以后给我发了封邮件,今天早上8点半左右我
我才回了一封email(我都没有想到真的能接到单呢),到现在没有接到回复。我只好先做做试试。
价格什么的先不谈了。

全是图像没有几个单词,我有80%的时间在处理图像。我还要不要做下去?她在耗我的时间吗?

翻译可按字数收费,但处理图像要额外收费。可以估计一下处理图像平均每页大致要花多少时间,然后折成每页收多少钱。必须先与客户谈好价格等条件再做。谈不拢就不要做了。宁可不干,不能白干!

如果客户连个电话号码都不给你留,那就有点玄。如果你不介意的话,可把客户名称、国家名称用 email 告诉我,我可帮你查一下 Blue Board。

上面 Zhou Dan 讲的接稿步骤非常重要。在接到 Purchase Order(PO)或 email confirmation 之前,绝对不要开始工作。吃一堑,长一智。不必太郁闷。 要这样想:也许这次的挫折能使你在将来避免更大的挫折。曾经有人干了几个星期,最后还是白干。从 Blue Board 上曾看到,有的客户拖欠某翻译两万多美元,最后破产;结果那翻译颗粒无收,欲哭无泪。 有空时可以看一看以前此论坛上关于如何开拓市场的一些讨论。 Good luck!
