在John Llewellyn Lewis的简介中有这么一句

..... A prolonged strike in 1946 led to contempt-of-court convictions and heavy fines for Lewis and the union, but similar aggressive strike tactics in 1948 and 1950 brought increased royalties to the welfare fund and substantial wage increases.....

"royalties to the welfare fund" 中文怎么翻译好呢？ 前文提到这个 welfare fund 是 industry-financed welfare fund, royalties 是不是企业拔给基金会的款项？
查了老半天，仍搞不清。请各位指点指点

welfare fund：（工人生病等期间领取的）福利基金。

brought increased royalties to the welfare fund是指为福利基金增加更多的royalties，这个royalties指专利权或特许使用费（当然也可以指版税），具体指什么，视上下文吧。
