我特别同意你这种观点。现在甚至连许多翻译自己都认为按照重复率打折是天经地义的事情了。有时候看起来似乎也有点道理,例如翻译如下链接所示的专利(这是我在网上随便找来的但却是个典型的例子):

但是我要问问翻译社,难道你们也按照重复率给最终客户打折了吗?再说,为什么你们只见原文里易嚼的肥肉却看不见其中难啃的骨头?
上面提到的那个客户说,“呵呵那我只能再找了”,那是由于他认为翻译市场完全是买方市场,一切都是由他说了算。作为一个翻译,就要不信邪,就要努力使自己从处于买方市场的劣势转变为处于卖方市场的优势。
如果翻译社的 PM 要求我按照重复率、volume 等因素打折,我不会跟他多废话,因为我知道我不可能用道理去说服他,当然他也甭指望能说服我。
