My mother always told me, be careful what you do... Mar 13, 2014

Words to live by, and the author of your note believes the same thing:

你应该向娜娜道歉,其实她已经原谅你了
You should apologise to Nana(?). She's already forgiven you, you know.

看手写汉字还是很费劲,那个娜字是这么写的吗?还得加倍努力,我儿子现在七岁了,正在学字,估计他很快就在这方面超越我了

It's actually quite legible. I've seen a lot worse.

I know! I'm seriously rubbish at handwritten stuff, the slightest little abbreviation throws me off completely. I just spent ten minutes trying to work out if there really is a character 邚 before it clicked!

Phil, it's kind of an inside joke. If you haven't been following the discussion on the topic of trendy terminology that we've been having lately, you wouldn't know what I'm referring to. But anyway, it's really nothing but a slight dig at the fashionable phrase of "你懂的".

Phil, better than me, I probably would have gone with a sloppily written 奶奶, which would have been a hoot for the OP. Always ask my translation partner about (almost) anything handwritten.

It would be interesting to know if we were translators in a simpler, pre-computer era, whether we'd (and by we I mean non-native Chinese speakers) be better at deciphering the handwritten stuff, since there would probably be more of it.
