I am back after a busy day yesterday. I was going to come here have a go at everyone, but was too tired.
I took Francis to school, came home with Alex, thought at least I could spend two hours with the translation, but no, I was so wrong!
Alex wanted a drink.
Alex wanted a hug.
Alex needed me to watch TV with him.
Alex wanted anohter hug again.
Then another drink.
Then it was 12 oclock, lunch time for Alex.

2 o'clock afternoon, Alex wanted a nap, mummy had to cuddle him, until he was fast asleep.
2:30, here we went, to get Francis from school.
3:30, both boys were at home, drinks, TV, fight with each other, all the way around to tea time.
8:30, Francis went to sleep, Alex carried on to play Tutu with mummy.
10:30, Alex was asleep, I got my things out again, which I don't know it was my 30th time or 40th.
12:00, too much, and too tired, here we came, bed time.
The whole day, the Internet was on from 7:00 in the morning to 12 at night, I don't know how many times I landed myself on the desk chair, without getting comfortable, I was needed again.
Whole day, I did about 1000 words, without editing, don't mention other things such as pretty it up.
Hopefully my five teachers are Ok with me so lazy.
I will supply some work to get proofreading by them. Even they all complained their own works are loaded, I just pretend that I don't know........

一天1000字恐怕多了点。毕竟孩子们还小，又没有别人帮你。每天做三、四百字好了，老师们批改起来也轻松一点。贵在持之以恒。如果文章很长，也不用全部翻译，挑几段上上手好了。否则，量太大，太辛苦了。

上次回国，傻得买了好多词典，却没顾及买一些其他书。一回去，整个人全身心地投入到食品，恨不得把北京全吃光。

不过，不能盲目地相信这些译文。因为这些译文也包含不少错误。
比如，前几个星期，我查“talk the talk”时，看到新浪有解释，很高兴地点了进去。原文解释如下：
“walk the walk, talk the talk,即说到做到,有点像是中文里的言行一致。”
我先不说我的看法，你认为这句话对吗？这句话十分形象。你可以google一下，看看能不能找到正確解釋。

是呀，回来时，除了书，还买了一整箱瓜子。弟弟还奇怪为什么买这东西，难道英国这么穷，瓜子都买不着。我不喜欢这儿的吃法，俺们往嘴里喂东西并不是为了健康着想，喜欢就吃。哪儿象他们一样，搭配均衡，无盐五味。圣诞节也是一只大火鸡，土豆，胡萝卜，几样菜，难吃还忙一整天，过了还假装特别好吃。上次回来，告诉婆婆下次一定跟我们去，结果老太太很同情地问：“中国能买到肉吗？”气得我们俩坐那儿没话说。
我有好几天没吃东西了，跟减肥一点关系都没有。Terry出差法国，儿子们吃一些鸡块什么的。我就干脆活在咖啡上。偶尔塞一块面包下去，经常吃得眼泪汪汪的。

其实吃鱼一点也不麻烦。我经常用电饭煲隔水清蒸小黄鱼、扁鱼什么的，稍微放点盐、料酒、生姜。插上电，十分钟肯定熟了，好吃又健康。现在是夏天，我懒得做，就这样弄一条鱼，切一盘生黄瓜，对付一顿。既减肥，又有营养。另外大量吃水果。昨天吃上了台湾运来的莲雾！

这里的桃子没味，我常吃香瓜、哈蜜瓜、西瓜……法国人不爱吃西瓜，所以西瓜品种少，但是香甜无籽薄皮。
今年新上市不少樱桃西红柿和葡萄串西红柿，酸甜可口，有利健康还不长肥，我一天至少吃一斤。
今天法国国庆，这里的译社都休假到周一才上班，但休假前照样给我们翻译任务，残酷！
你们Terry也该回来了吧？等孩子们7-8岁时，可以让他们参加夏令营活动，不但玩得痛快，还有利于他们适应集体生活和培养自立，你也可以轻松轻松。我女儿去度假了，我就轻松许多

郭建中著，中国对外翻译出版公司，2004年12月第一次出版。价格：RMB29.50
虽然题目是科普和科幻翻译，但翻译技巧讲解得很清楚，可以举一反三。我听过他的课，很好的。

一般习语或圣经中，"talk the talk, walk the walk" 是“说到做到，言行一致”的意思。但是我看了一些其他的，也可以理解为：
在http://infosecuritymag.techtarget.com/2003/feb/talkthetalk.shtml中，可以理解为“循序渐进，慢慢提高”的意思。
在Card player magazine中 by Robert Varkonyi：又有“因果不一致”， “说到做不到，夸大话”的意思。
在"the resource for Growing Companies"中，"How to collect from clients: walk the walk, talk the talk",又有“见机行事，随机应变”，“具体情况具体处理”的意思，同时在此文中，有“说你应该说的，做到你能够做的”但有别于“说到做到，言行一致“。
我不肯定是否理解正确，只是认为这种小句子的用法也应该“具体情况具体处理”。

Joyce 同学，你的态度很认真，值得大家学习。Google是最有用的翻译工具，比大多数字典都管用，需要我们善加利用。但如何从茫茫搜索结果中找到自己需要的答案，也有很多学问，需要不断积累。
以上这个词，我本来是不敢拿出来的，幸有Wenjer君指点，方敢在此班门弄斧。
当我遇到这个范例的时候，我就想这句话为什么译成言行一致。我认为Talk the walk或许可以译成言行一致，但Walk the walk, talk the talk并不是一回事。我的理解是
能以正确的走路方式走路，能以正确的说话方式说话；走众人之路，说众人之言（表示你已学会和大家一样的方式走路和说话）；
Wenjer君的理解是“说行话”，与我的理解是相近的，在行业培训的文章中，就可以这样翻。
如果用来骂的人话，可以译成“会不会走人路，会不会说人话”。
我前几天校proz上一位同仁的稿，其竟将single family house译成“单亲家庭住宅”。我google一下，这种译法还真不少呢。
如果上述理解不正确的话，望请高人指点。
