when I try to re-import an external view file (RTF format) in the same project where I created it with Deja Vu Professional, the Merge External View Data dialog that appears is always empty.

I have Windows 8, Office 2010.

I have yet tried uselessly the following:
- saving the RTF file (the external view file) in word 2003 before importing
- following all the instructions available at this page
- repairing project

This happens with each project. Does anybody know what else can I do?

Just checking... Jul 3, 2013

Have you selected to include the row ID in the external view you are creating? (it's the only way you can reimport anything to DVX really)

Segment ID Jul 3, 2013

It was called Row ID in DVX but Segment ID in DVX2, anyway, the same thing.

Segment ID is essential, you can export into EV without them but you can not import back if they are missing.

From the Help file:
It is imperative that you include the segment ID if you are planning to re-import the project (as you would after proofreading or editing), and instruct your proofreader not to change these.

Problem Solved! Jul 4, 2013

Dear Rossana and dear Selcuk,
today it works!

It's strange: I'm sure (but I could have dreamed it...) that I selected to include row ID also yesterday 'cause it's suggested here

Anyway I wanted to try again today and it works perfectly now!

Thank you for your suggestions!

(just for giving you an information: in the italian version in DVX2 it is called "row ID")

Have a good day,
