Dear Colleagues,

does anyone know whether .bmp Trados Autosuggest dictionaries can be imported, converted for import into Deja Vu X3, or used/converted in a tool outside of DV X3?

The Auto-write does not need a built-in dictionary Apr 2, 2015

Dear Martin,

DVX3 works differently.
The Auto-write feature will dig in the databases (TM, TB, Lexicon) directly with no need of extra dictionary. If your client sent you a TM, importing it in your Déjà Vu TM will do it: suggestions will come up right away.
I don't know if there is a way to feed Studio databases with .bmp custom dictionnaries (I guess there is?). If there is, feel free sending the .bmp file in the TM or the TB. Once you will have imported that in your DVX3 databases (TM, TB or lexicon), you will be all set.

Kind regards,
Atril Team

Can't do it Apr 2, 2015

You can't do that, because DVX does not rely on dictionaries to provide automatic completion suggestions; it uses DeepMiner to look into the available resources on the fly and make its suggestions.

Perhaps you could export your dictionary as a term base, but I don't know of any tool that can do that. SDL offer some free utilities (OpenExchange?), so have a look there.
