Hi,

When I right click on a phrase that is shown from my TM or TD and press delete, it disappears, but is obviously still there as when I move on to the next segment it still shows inconsistent terminology.

Anyone know how to delete/ update TM as you go along?

Editing and deleting database entries Jul 27, 2007

Hi,

I am not sure if I completely understand your question but here is how you edit databases in Deja Vu X:

Editing TDBs:
You must open the TDB and manually edit/delete the entries, which can be quite time-consuming. But in my opinion it is not really necessary for you to do this because DVX usually gives preference to the newer TDB entries over the older TDB entries. So if you find a better translation for a term already in the TDB, just send it to your TDB using Shift + F11 and it will be given preference over the older one.

Editing TMs:
The best way to edit a TM is to (1) update the projects from where you fed your TM, (2) create a new TM from scratch, (3) assign that new TM to each project, (4) hit Alt + F12. In this way you get a new TM containing all the updated entries.

You can also use SQL commands to edit databases, but this is only recommended for advanced users.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Olaf

Multiple entries must be deleted multiple times Jul 27, 2007

To my knowledge deleting MDB and TDB entries from the AutoSearch (or Portions) window works fine (even if the database is marked as "read only" in the project properties!). However, you can have duplicate entries in both the MDB and the TDB, in which case they keep coming up until you delete all of them.

So you might try deleting a few times to see if the entry in question finally goes away. If it doesn't, there might indeed be a problem.
