Bonjour!

J'ai reçu d'une agence parisienne un chèque du Crédit Lyonnais en euros payable en France. Ma banque veut me charger des frais de $25 US pour l'encaisser.

Est-ce normal aux États-Unis? Comme j'ai aussi un compte bancaire au Canada, j'aimerais savoir si ça me coûterait moins cher le déposer dans ce compte.

I have some experience in this area, and I have always found it much cheaper to use a Canadian bank. Even the US banks that are familiar with exchange transactions are invariably slower and charge higher fees.

La Caisse Populaire exige des frais de 7$.
et le chèque est retenu un mois.

Vous m'avez convaincue de ce que je soupçonnais déjà : ça me coûtera moins cher de le déposer dans mon compte de Montréal.

un compte étranger en France Mar 16, 2004

une autre idée : si tu reçois régulièrement des paiements en euros, tu as peut-être intérêt à ouvrir un compte étranger en France avec une carte bleue Visa pour retirer tes sous de n'importe où dans le monde, instantanément et à peu de frais.
