About the OLF and Termium Oct 26, 2002

Yes, it is one of the many services offered by the Office de la langue française. They also compiled the Grand Dictionnaire Terminologique (GDT), the Quebec rival of Termium. The GDT is often closer to Canadian usage than Termium which is a blend of Canadian French, French French and sometimes poor French.

The GDT was compiled by professional lexicologists while Termium is a blend of research done by professional terminologists and personal notes of Translation Bureau employees. In Termium, many quotes and explanations have been removed over the years because they were copied directly from paper dictionmaries and constituted copyright violations.

Both are tools you cannot do without provided you exert adequate caution.
