This thread is part of the Translator playground: a place for translators to have fun, to network, to learn, and to hone their translation or linguistic skills. See the announcement here.

Need a quick break from work? In this forum translators and language professionals can share pictures of found mistranslations, comics, images representing translation, etc.

All are welcome to participate and to add new items to this and the other areas of the Translator playground; have fun with it! If you need help or would like to propose an addition to the Translator playground, contact site staff through the online support system.

The Fill in the speech bubbles thread has received quite a lot of good and creative suggestions and some of the participants seem to be fierce competitors willing to have a contestant named a winner. So this is your time to vote for your favorite comic (the original version is also competing )

To vote simple make a post with the number of the comic you are voting for. The competition is also running on ProZ.com page on Facebook

#10 is highly ironic, the author achieved a world fame thanks to someone's engaging translation/ foreign copy, as there's no other way for literature to be popular around the world. And then they ask them to keep low profile. Good illustration.
