In the bottom of the Windows 2000 screen used to appear a yellow lettersymbol when new mail arrived (I have sounds switched off). Once the symbol persisted though I had read all new messages, so I clicked on the symbol and made it go away. But it never came back, took offence.
How do I get it back? I use Outlook2002.

Hi Heinrich,
I use the German version, so the commands may be slightly different:

Tools - Options - E-Mail Options - Extended E-Mail Options

You need to tick a box in the second section of that window: "Show an envelope icon in the task bar".

HTH, Ralf
