Not receiving email notifications (staff: 'KudoZ alert system has been changed') Thread poster: António Ribeiro

Since yesterday afternoon (Australia time) that I am not getting any email notifications for new posted questions.
I did check My Settings / Kudoz Notifications and everything looks fine.
As I am receiving emails from many other sources, can you please let me know if you are having problems sending emails?
From ProZ, I am only receiving "Question closed", "Congratulations" and "Peer comment" notifications.

Hi,
Have you checked relevant subject areas for KudoZ you want to be notified about?
Since few days there is new system for KudoZ notification and you need to mark subject areas you are interested in. You can find it under My Sttings / KudoZ Notifications, look for a long table on the right hand side and put check marks under respective categories. Don't forget the update button at the end

Yes, I did check everything before posting my previous note.
I am still not getting any email notification.

I notice that you have selected five fields of specialization. (You are wise to specialize to this degree.) Are you sure that questions were asked in these fields? With the narrow fields, you can expect to get fewer (but more targeted) notifications...

Thanks Henry.
I have reduced the number of fields of specialization from five to three, as I always had in the past.
Questions in these fields are rare. However, I never had problems in getting all the questions, in both pro and easy levels. This only started yesterday afternoon (my time).
As I said before, I\'m still receiving the Question Closed, Peer comment and Congratulations notifications.

That is what is new -- now, you will only get notification of KudoZ questions in your specific fields. (If you want to get question notifications in more fields, you can just check them.)

Now the detailed field is required.
One goal of this change is to get more specialists involved in KudoZ. With this new way to track specific fields, we hope members who did not subscribe to KudoZ notifications due to volume will now consider subscribing in narrow subject areas (such as petroleum, geology, etc.)
Depending on language pairs, with narrow fields like this, one might get a question only every few days (or weeks or months). However, the questions received will be more relevant, and hopefully, the answers will be more precise. With more specialists involved, we also expect that KudoZ terms collaboration will continue to be an excellent way to encounter other qualified people working in your niche(s).
Please let us know how the new system is working out for you (António and others).
