Fun to play with, and useful too. Note that once you have created a scheme, you can click any colour to promote it to the main colour (in the larger square beside the sliding bars).

You might also want to use it for interior decorating to help choose a colour scheme for painting your house. Or for coordinating an outfit to wear.

Great Tool ! Mar 13, 2004

.. particularly if you happen to be a little bit color blind.icon_wink.gif

It is written in scrambled JavaScript, but nevertheless you can save it locally, and it is a good complement to my other favorite freeware for choosing website colors:

Thanx, GoodWords! Mar 13, 2004

The tool is already in my bookmarks.

From my side I would like to recommend a tiny program called Pixie:

Pixie is an easy-to-use, fast and tiny utility designed especially to fit the needs of Webmasters and Designers. Its a colour picker that includes a mouse tracker. Run it, simply point to a colour and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values of that colour. You can then use these values to reproduce the selected colour in your favorite programs. Pixie will also show the current x y position of your mouse pointer. Its the only tool you'll need for working with colours.
