How can I get MS-Word to not print the gridlines of a table?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am not sure how this option is called in English now (I have Polish Word now).

Selet the portion of a table that interest you first

Use toolbar option Sep 10, 2004

With the table created (all with full lines), select all of it.
On the toolbar, click the triangle next to the icon in the form of a square divided into four squares. This brings up a choice of such squares to delete what lines you want. Click on the one consisting entirely of dotted lines. The table will now be shown in faint lines which will not be there at all when printed.

I have adjusted my toolbar, so I don't have these options I don't often use.

Another way is: select the table: rightclick on it: table properties: borders and shading, and select "none". Same effect, the borders will not be printed.

Hide grids/Borders Sep 11, 2004

Word makes a distinction between gridlines and borders. Grids are just for the ease of the user to see where the delimitations of a table are while the borders are the edges of the table. If you mean borders then you can remove them from your table by selecting the following:
Table -> Table Properties > Borders and Shading -> Borders -> Preview

(Word 2002)

Next, click on the borders you want or want to remove.

At the bottom of the panel you will also see the option Show Toolbar (Tables and Borders). If you press this, you can follow Jack's instructions.

To hide true grids, select:
Table -> Hide Gridlines
