Creating .wav sound files

Windows provides the sound recording facility but we can record for just one minute and if we require a long recording, we have to make a number of files as we can't record for more than one minutes.

I'll be thankful if someone could give me the link for downloading the free software for creating .wav sound files for more than a minute.
