Try myfonts.com Mar 31, 2006

Hi Sven,

Go to http://www.myfonts.com/search and type in “circled”. You'll get a choice of different fonts starting as low as $6.

Other sites you can try:
www.fonts.com
www.linotype.com

Regards,
Endre

Unicode Mar 31, 2006

The Unicode hexadecimal numbers for the circled alphanumerics are:

Numbers (1 -20): 2460 – 2473
Letters (upper and lower case): 24B6 – 24E9

and are all to be found in the Arial Unicode MS and Code2000 fonts. Finding or writing a keyboard mapping to associate with these characters is another matter.

Caution about Arial Unicode Apr 3, 2006

Just an FYI that Arial Unicode is a font to stay away from; even MS says it should used only as a last resort. One problem is that it has tendency to try to download itself in its entirety to printers, and it's a 20-meg font (or something very high).

Even my own experience and anecdotal knowledge has found Arial Unicode to be a real pain-in-the-rear.

Enclosed Alphanumerics Apr 3, 2006

This page may be of interest:

http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/enclosed_alphanumerics.html

unless you really want to pay out $22 for the Circle Frame font or something similar (which I would guess is already mapped to the keyboard but not (strictly) Unicode).
