Sorry, aber das hatte ich ewig nicht und komme immer wieder durcheinander:

12:00 p.m. ist doch zwölf Uhr mittags, nicht nachts, oder trügt mich mein Erinnerungsvermögen?

...12:00 a.m. ist Mitternacht, 12:00 p.m. ist "High Noon".

easy way to remember Nov 18, 2005

The easy way to remember 12 am or pm is that New Year's Eve at exactly midnight is the next day, hence 12.:00 a.m.

Mit 12:00 pm haben die Amis selber Probleme und technische Autoren empfehlen deshalb weder 12:00 a.m. noch 12:00 p.m. zu verwenden.

Man liest immer wieder "12 a.m." bzw. "12 p.m.", aber richtig ist "12 noon" oder "12 midnight" (oder einfach "noon" und "midnight")
