Netter Versuch... Mar 9, 2006

That’s nuffin! Mar 9, 2006

Last year I quoted an agency for a medical translation and got the job.

In my “Translator’s notes”, which I sent with my translation, I pointed out that the source text contained an error which would endanger the patients’ lives and consequently could cause financial disaster for the agency’s customer.

The agency flatly refused to communicate this concern to their customer.

They further, after that I had delivered, insisted on that I in writing should accept full and unlimited liability for any actual and punitive damages that might be imposed because of the translated text.

Beat that one!

... or they kept a retainer reflecting the possible liability risks? Can't see anything less than 100% as realistic in this case;\
