Hi,

I`m only starting to work as a translator and I don`t know much about it.

Will I only get jobs being part of iti or iol (this is in the UK)?

How much does it cost and what do I have to do to be part of it?

Thank you so much

Carolina

Dear Carolina,

I'm not sure whether you can be a part of the organisations, but you certainly can apply for a membership.

Best regards,
Natalia

You will get jobs based on your qualification and ability, not because of your membership (or lack of) of linguist organisations like the ITI or IOL.

Having said this, you might really consider becoming a member (and being certified) by ITI or IOL as a benchmark your potential customers can use to ascertain your qualities as a translator.
