Check, they have an entire big database of US-based agents and also offer a fairly good description of what the entire process looks like. Don't hold your hopes too high though.

You don't have to search for publishers or agents, you can self-publish your book without asking anybody to do it for you, and even without lots of money to invest. There are various websites to help you. If you would like more information, drop me a line and I will give you more details. I had the same problem and got it resolved.
