Monterey Institute of International Studies is a possibility. It's also the only place in the US (that I know of) where you can get a full MA in interpreting, not just a few courses. They offer the options of an MA in T, T&I or conference interpreting (if you have 2 working languages besides English). I know they offer Russian.

The admission criteria are tough. You have to be a near-native speaker in all of your working languages.

The pros are a practically oriented program with professors who are all working translators and interpreters. If you want translation theory, this is not the place to go. It's challenging, but you will be very well-prepared for the professional world afterward. I had a job lined up before I graduated. Also, it's in a very beautiful part of California - think interpreting practice with your group at a picnic table under a palm tree!

The con is the price. It's very expensive, but as a graduate, I can say that the investment was completely worth it for me. You also have to cram a lot into the 2 years you have there. It would ideally be a 3-year program, but the cost is prohibitive.

Anyway, I graduated in 1997, so you might want to check their Web site for the latest: www.miis.edu

Another place to try is Kent State in Ohio, but I don't know much about their program. NYU in New York City is also offering translation classes now, but I'm not sure if they offer Russian.

Good luck!
