Hi everybody,

I was wondering if anybody could help me and tell me how many words a translator from English to French can expect to translate per day? What is the average?
A lot of agencies ask for this kind of info that I cannot really provide being new in the business.

Ca depend du type de texte bien evidemment, de la difficulte technique etc. mais en general, je pense que les gens indiquent qqch comme 2000 mots par jour. Personnellement, sur certains de mes projets, je fais actuellement bien plus (egalement pour des raisons d'urgence etc.).
Voila donc une idee generale.

Bonjour Estelle,

Je pense que 1500 - 2000 mots par jour, c'est déjà une bonne moyenne quand on débute, si on vise la qualité. Ne surtout pas accepter des délais du type 10 000 mots en 3 jours, on est incapable de rendre un travail de qualité avec des délais comme ça, à moins d'être un spécialiste expérimenté...

...Spécialistes expérimentés à qui je laisse place pour d'autres conseils.
