I have trained for the DPSI (diploma public serivces Interpreter) and I am currently waiting for the exam results. Although this diploma is basically interpreting, we had to sit translation papers as well.
I would like to do some translation. Should I prepare for the Dips Trans exam? Do you think it is a waste of time as I will have DPSI?

Also, with DPSI can I start "advertising" myself as translator and interpreter, or really I should just be "interpreter"?

My background is linguistics, tutoring and I have done, as many of us, ad-hoc translations for employer, friends, etc.
