Hi everyone,
I'm a translation undergraduate student from Italy, and I've been asked to write a report about Maltese court interpreters. The thing is, I can't find material about this issue on the internet!
So, if there are any Maltese interpreters out there, could you please help me and answer some questions such as:
-what rates and job conditions you have
-is there an interpreters association
-what languages are most required
and so on and so forth?
Thanks a lot!
Vale

Hi Vale,

I am not a Maltese translator but I think I could contribute with some resources.

Have you tried searching the ProZ.com directory of translation companies (http://www.proz.com/translation-companies)? Look for those based in Malta, search their websites, try giving them a call if you have specific questions…

You could also try searching the ProZ.com directory of freelance interpreters (http://www.proz.com/freelance-interpreters/), to look for those based in Malta and/or interpreting from/into Maltese, review their profiles, and, possibly, contact them directly.

Running a basic Google search, I have also found the following articles that may be of some interest to you:

http://accurapid.com/journal/42malta.htm

HTH,

Daniel
