Hi all,

I want to advertise a type of telephone interpreting service, however it is not traditional in so far as it is not immediate. I have assisted a number of clients already by making phone calls on their behalf to Spanish speakers and then relaying the information back to them. This has often required more than one phone call andhas taken place over a short period of time. I have also done this via email. I'd like to know what the best term would be to describe this service given it is not traditional interpreting.

Many thanks,

Rachael

Well, from your description it sounds like what you're doing is delayed consecutive interpretation.

I guess it would depend on if you are only relaying information. Are you able to answer questions for which you already know the answer to or give additional information without having to call back your client and see what they have to say? If so then you would be acting more like a representative of your client. A liaison if you will. If this is the case you can call it that, or look for a good synonym and use that.
